Rather than give employees a big, gooey cake on their birthdays, Crossland gave them a black-and-white card. Which had a picture of a cake that was also a house. This is the outside of the card.

How do you depict a holistic accountant? She wanted nature to be part of the look. So I photographed a bunch of pencils and made them tree trunks . . . which, I guess, is what they started out as.

All Glyphics’ materials had a petroglyph theme. For the holiday card, the owner insisted that it include a snowmobile. And what do you know? With a little prompting, it can pass as a fertility symbol. More on this in newsletter #9.
